Making Something

Making Something

It's quite the liberating act to have an idea...
or to be inspired by something enough to make your own version of it.
That's been heavy on my mind.

Creating is spiritual.

You take a thought that exists in your mind & somehow bring it into the physical world.
It doesn't matter if it's a bar of soap, a painting, a piece of furniture, a dress, or a song.
It exists because someone decided to make it.

There's something radical about that.

Even more so when what we create becomes a resource. Something useful. Something someone else needs. An offering that can be exchanged for money, shared with a friend, or passed down.

An idea becomes value.
I think that's why I admire people who make things with their hands.
They remind me that we aren't limited to consuming what's already here.

We can participate.
We can experiment.
We can learn.

We can make our own rendition of something that inspired us.

The possibilities are endless.

This is a good reminder that inspiration isn’t meant to stop at admiration. It’s meant to become action.
