Some dreams are prophetic.
Some are messages. Some are reminders.
Some dreams are merely projections that take root from unchecked emotions.
Learning to decipher the difference between each kind of dream has posed me many questions over the years.
How do I know when I'm being shown a future moment before it happens?
How do I know when I'm being shown a message instead?
How do I know when a dream is a warning?
I understand now that the message is more in the way the dream makes me feel than in the symbols, people, or conversations I see while I'm dreaming.
All of those things create pieces of the puzzle, but the feeling I'm left with is where I always find the truth.
It's never just a dream for me…
It's that feeling I get when something I dreamt about eventually gets lived out by me... or by someone around me.
It's chilling.
There have been too many moments for me to dismiss it as coincidence.
Most times, I don't know who in my life I can even share these dreams with without feeling judged or misunderstood.
So I write them down instead.

Sharing a dream is a form of intimacy because it opens both parties up to a new and untapped opportunity. Through the process of breaking down the dream opens the mind and creates a renewed version of what comes with dreaming.
