It Always Begins With a Feeling

It Always Begins With a Feeling

Ironically, I'm writing about the importance of spending quality time with yourself & your loved ones away from the internet... for my online blog.

There's always another task waiting on my laptop. Something to update on my website. Something to post on social media.
Hours pass before I realize I haven't taken a moment to simply sit, breathe, & listen to the world around me.

When I think about it, so much of my life has been spent with my eyes fixed on a screen.
I'm changing that.

I'm making it my business to spend more time doing the things that make me feel the most alive.
Things that require movement.
I love listening to music & getting lost in the sonic worlds artists create. I love freestyling. Sometimes it's choreography. Sometimes it's just stretching & flipping around my backyard because it doesn't ask much of my analytical mind.
Those are usually the moments that spark something.
I'll catch myself moving to a song, & suddenly I'm imagining the visual story it could become. How I could translate the feeling the music gives me into something people can see.
I've realized that's how I create.

It always begins with a feeling.

Whether it's music, fashion, skincare, writing, or film, I'm never chasing a medium. I'm chasing an emotion.

The medium just happens to be whatever tells the story best.

Yesss there’s such a beautiful space in time when we’re physically present to experience life, to literally touch grass. It’s spiritual as well, so the inspiration we receive is God-sent!

What you did with this post is break out of the matrix. Our senses are hijacked by artificial stimuli and it’s meant to bring about an emotional response, that’s the purpose of the algorithm. But you, with self awareness, rejected that “new normal” and reconnected with your humanity. I’m proud and I hope this inspires others as well!

I think that’s why your writing feels consistent even when the subjects change. You’re not attached to the medium—you’re attached to the feeling you’re trying to leave people with.

Needed this, been neglecting my feelings a lot lately I think. Feelings tell you how to move. Gotta move with less resistance. Peace and love.
